Dish #80 with Sean and Kai Bermingham
Welcome to ‘World Dishes 80’ – a blog that traces my journey around the world in 80 dishes. In 2015, I set out with my family to try a different dish from 80 countries around the world: The resulting dishes are listed below, with links to the original recipes. I hope you get a chance to try some yourself. Bon appetit!
And so the last dish of the year! For #80 I made deep-fried Mars bars, a ‘traditional’ dish from Stonehaven, Scotland. As the recipe says, an “excellent source of fat and sugar”. Recipe from food.com. Happy New Year!
Two more recipes to reach 80! For dish #79 I tried this traditional Brazilian dish called feijoada – a hearty meat stew with black beans. This recipe, which includes slices of mango, is from allrecipes.com. Now just one dish to go – and four days left in the year…
For dish #78, the kids and I made these Canadian-style cookies with maple syrup. Ended up a bit misshapen, but taste great. Recipe from food.com:
For dish #77 it’s time for a trip to the Emerald Isle. I tried this Irish stew recipe from simplyrecipes.com, with beef, vegetables, red wine – and a healthy dose of Guinness… Slainte!
For dish #76, I made this roasted vegetables dish with balsamic vinegar and rosemary from New Zealand. Recipe from Sophie Gray via healthy food.co.nz
For dish #75 I tried this beef and peppers dish from Australia. Recipe from allrecipes.com
